At the end of Anti-Poverty Week, we will follow the route of the 1931 Beef March, one of the largest mobilisations of unemployed people in South Australian history.
You are invited to join us for all or part of this 15km march on Monday 23rd October starting at 10am, during which we will stop at Job Prospects Adelaide and Coca-Cola Amatil.
If you don’t with to take part in the entire event, you can meet up with us between 12pm and 12:30pm on the corner of Port and Woodville Road. Or keep updated on where we are through the Facebook event at: tinyurl.com/yboeekrh
We will finish with a community picnic in the city, at between 3pm and 4pm (location TBC).
This Trek is a demonstration of the long history of struggle for those out of work and living in poverty – our victories may sometimes be temporary, but our defeat will never be final.
